Novel Synthetic Routes Towards Alkyl Substituted Alkaline-Earth Metal Silyl Amides
Calcium, strontium and barium compounds are gaining importance in synthetic applications, polymerization initiators, reagents to modify polymers and metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) precursors. Additionally, organocalcium derivatives are currently being explored as polymerization initiators for biodegradable polymers. Further progress in this area of chemistry critically depends on facile, reproducible synthetic routes towards the target compounds. We here explore new synthetic routes towards the unknown alkyl substituted alkaline-earth metal silyl amides. Synthetic methodologies to be explored include direct transmetallation, redox transmetallation-ligand exchange as well as salt metathesis.
