CSTEP & The Rebecca Lee Pre-Health Society
|
- by Sheba King
The Rebecca Lee Pre-Health Society is an organization designed to promote and encourage a diverse group of pre-health students to graduate, medical and dental schools. This organization is open to any Syracuse University student who has an interest in a health profession as a career goal, regardless of that student's current major.
One reason students should join this organization is because it is a branch of the Students National Medial Association, and as such, often collaborates on events and programs with Upstate Medical School. Other reasons to join the Rebecca Lee Pre-Health Society include networking opportunities, community service projects, mentoring from medical students, the availability of MCAT/GRE preparation workshops, and, most importantly, advice and support that those members will receive from fellow students.
This year, the Rebecca Lee Pre-Health Society and CSTEP will present "Diversifying Excellence in the Medical Field: The New Faces of Medicine." This will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003, in Schine 304, at 1:00 pm. Students who attend will have the opportunity to speak with healthcare professionals and find out about the latest topics in medicine as well as how to succeed in health professions.
